Frequently asked questions
Is Taxbordr a registered tax advisory firm in Portugal?
Yes. Taxbordr is led by Telmo Ramos, a tax advisor registered with the Ordem dos Economistas (Portugal’s professional body for economists), member no. 16379. The firm is a registered Portuguese entity (NIF: PT518006255).
Who leads the work, and how is it reviewed?
Taxbordr assigns each part of the work through a focused team with named responsibility. Telmo Ramos leads the technical review and signs Tax Position Reviews and advisory deliverables within scope; the wider team supports filings, registrations, and coordinated implementation.
How does Taxbordr approach international tax advice?
Taxbordr uses defined scope, a written Portugal-side position, and named technical ownership. Telmo Ramos leads the technical review and signs the Tax Position Review, while the wider team supports filings, registrations, and coordination with home-country advisers.
Can I work with Taxbordr remotely?
All advisory work is delivered remotely: calls, document exchange, Tax Position Review delivery. No in-person meetings required. Clients engage from pre-move planning through post-arrival filing coordination.
What written document do I receive?
The EUR 500 Tax Position Review, including VAT, gives a written answer to your agreed Portuguese tax question, with the reasoning, assumptions, material uncertainties and next steps. A larger planning engagement may include a planning memorandum, with its analysis and deliverables set out in that engagement. Returns, applications and implementation are agreed separately.
Will you tell me if another service is more suitable?
Yes. If a Tax Position Review will not add value, we tell you before the call and refund it in full. If you only need standard filing, we explain the relevant service. Work outside our scope may be referred to another adviser.
How does Taxbordr approach complex cross-border cases?
Telmo worked at KPMG Luxembourg and EY Portugal before founding Taxbordr. The firm combines founder-led Portugal advisory with cross-border casework.
How is the work agreed?
We confirm the work included, fee and timetable in writing before starting. The Tax Position Review has its own scope; further planning, coordination and filing are included only when commissioned.
Do you advise on RSUs, stock options and executive compensation?
Yes. Taxbordr advises on executive compensation including RSUs, stock options, board fees, and multi-country equity taxation in Portugal as part of a cross-border tax position.
Where can I read independent Taxbordr reviews?
You can read independent Taxbordr reviews on Google Reviews.
How do I contact Taxbordr?
You can contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp to check which service fits. If you already know you need written advice on a Portuguese tax question, you can book a Tax Position Review.
